Le grand Jean-Paul, a sculpture by Roselyne Granet, represents the famous artist Jean-Paul Riopelle. The sculpture depicts the artist between the ages of 45 and 47, when he made La Joute. It is a portrait in the round, cast in bronze. Riopelle is life-size, his face turned to his right. On the same side, his hand rests on his hip and his foot slightly forward. The work’s surface is grainy, creating the impression of movement.
